Got asked a couple times how big this mallet is. So...here ya go.
"Viking Age Woodwerks" is my personal business for the medieval / viking age furniture and other woodworks that I make in my spare time.
I have been a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), Inc., for 30+ years. We are an international non-profit medieval history re-creation society. This is the business I will continue with as I retire from my professional field. All of my woodworking pieces are custom made to your specifications. Creation times can be weeks, if not months, as I work on these in my spare time / days

Mallet prototype is done. Sanded to 220 grit and a heavy coat of BLO (boiled linseed oil). Even added a leather thong wriststrap to it.
These are what we will be making in one of the woodworking classes I will be teaching at Gulf Wars in a few weeks.

Cut a wedge from bloodwood. Got the handle glued in and wedged. Had to re-glue a joint I somehow did not clamp right the first time. Is time for supper now, so will finish up tomorrow.

Using my laser etcher to burn in my logo on one side of the mallet head.

Used the belt sander to sand smooth all sides of the mallet head, and chamfer all the sharp edges. Then sanded by hand to 220 grit.

Glued up the other side of the head of the mallet.
