A piece of Furniture City history is up for sale. This would make a great office or possibly showroom.

FOR SALE: A major roadside attraction and piece of NC history has just gone up for sale: The World’s Largest Chest of Drawers.

It’s a century old, and bigger than a house. I wonder if you could live inside.

Towering 38-feet-tall along a High Point roadside, it’s been listed for sale for $175,000. Inside is two levels with 2,382 square feet of space. It’s been used in the past to house the Chamber of Commerce.

A nearby children’s museum had purchased the historic structure several years ago, but the landmark no longer fits into their future plans.

The giant chest of drawers was built in 1926 — though it looked very different in that era. For nearly a century, it’s served as a symbol of High Point’s identity as the “Furniture Capital of the World.”

Today, a fence and signs are around the iconic structure. It’ll be interesting to see who will buy the unique roadside attraction and what its future holds.

If you’re coming to High Point market and want to schedule a meeting please message or call and we’ll get something set up.
We do not have a booth at this market. The HFA RRC has gotten extremely expensive compared to other spaces at market so we may have a separate space in October.
