MOUNTAIN RIFLEMAN IS BACK FOR 2027!

One of our most anticipated classes is returning, and this time we’re taking it to an incredible new location!

Our 2027 Mountain Rifleman course will be hosted at a private range outside of Tehachapi, CA, right next door to the legendary Tejon Ranch.

This new venue offers some of the most impressive shooting terrain we’ve had access to. High above the valley floor, with massive elevation changes, challenging winds, and shooting opportunities you won’t find at your typical range. This is going to be something special.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Mountain Rifleman takes the fundamentals of long-range shooting and applies them to challenging, real-world mountain environments.

High-Angle Shooting: Engaging targets at steep uphill and downhill angles while understanding how elevation changes affect your ballistic solutions.

Advanced Wind Reading: Learning to read complex winds moving across ridgelines, through valleys, and over changing terrain.

Terrain-Based Shooting: Engaging targets across hilltops, down valleys, and at varying distances and elevations.

Positional Shooting: Building stable shooting positions using natural terrain, tripods, and field-expedient supports.

Applied Ballistics: Refining your ballistic data, understanding environmental conditions, and making accurate corrections.

This isn’t your typical square-range class. Expect challenging shots, difficult conditions, and two days of training designed to make you a more capable and confident r***eman.

CLASS DETAILS:

Location: Tehachapi, California (private ranch)
Dates: 2027 | March 6-7
Tuition: $1,000
Deposit: $500 to secure your spot

This class sells out every year, and we expect 2027 to be no different.

Shoot us a DM or submit a registration request through our website to reserve your spot!

Last public class of the 2026 shooting season in the books and in true Make it to a Mile fashion, the weather came with the class. We started the morning with 18mph winds and by the time we got to the longer range targets at 1300 yards plus the wind was averaging 23mph and we had gusts up to 30mph. That didn’t stop these guys from making impacts. At one point everyone was completely dialed out of wind and having to hold additional wind. Notable class stats from today, 4/6 shooters made an impact(s) at a mile. We had a 6GT make 2 (4th shot and 6th shot), 260 REM make a 2nd round impact, a 25GT make a 5th round impact and then a 300 PRC close it out. This was the first class to have a 6mm and 25 Cal make the trip and make the mile.

Thank you to these guys for making it out and thank you to the 250 plus students attended classes and lessons this season. The 2027 schedule will be up next week with new classes, new ranges and improvements to our home range.

A huge thank you to James and Blake who made the trip out from Brisbane AUS to come shoot with us the last two days. It’s pretty incredible to have students join us from all over the world.

These two made all the milestone impacts, they got to the 1000 yard target on Monday, and today both had at least 5 impacts at a mile and all the targets in between. Thank you both for coming out and spending part of your holiday with us.

Man what an epic weekend we had with these guys. Two full days of hunt prep, LR shooting, tripods and some strong wind to put their skills to the test. This business was built to help make hunters more lethal, more ethical and more knowledgeable back in 2020.

This season we put a renewed focus on it and the students we have got for our hunting specific classes have been absolutely stellar all year. We can’t wait to share some new classes, new ranges and dates for our core classes for the 2027 season.

In the mean time, we have one class left before our winter break. Make it to a Mile on Oct 10-11 at our woodland range. This is one of the best classes of the year and there is a reason this class is always the last class we host in our shooting season. DM or email to get registered

Starting off the class weekend with a bang. We hosted 12 shooters today for an LR Skills Clinic. Some of these guys were using the class as a train up for our LR Hunter this weekend and others were dipping their toes into the LR game. These guys paid attention and put their new skills to the test making some pretty technical shoots in some swirling wind conditions. One guy would need a mil at 800 and the next was straight up. They all made it happen!

We have one class weekend left in 2026: Make it to a Mile, Oct 10-11 at our woodland range. We only have 3 spots left then we are taking some time off until 2027, DM or email us if you want to snag a spot.

We had an epic Labor Day weekend. Fri/Sat Loren Homola came to our range for a private two day class. We got to work on fundamentals, some elr shooting and some tripod/positional shooting to prep them for Washington’s up and coming deer season.

Sunday and Monday we headed down to Heildsburg to a private ranch to host a private class. The two days were filled with a ton of shooting, evenings spent deer hunting and great home made food. The ranch is amazing and we may be working on a few courses there for the 2027 season.

My first A Zone buck!

I was fortunate to do a little hunting prior to a private two day class today and stumbled upon this guy. No crazy technical shot but a well placed bullet dropped him in his tracks. I want to say a huge thank you to Ranch Life | Homesteader Craftsman for allowing me to hunt and the invite to teach a class. We may have some cool stuff coming for this place in the near future and maybe a new class on the schedule for 2027
