Please answer this question. Can a notary notarize your document if all you have is a temporary drivers license? Why or why not?

Make sure you always have a current driver's license or state ID card. You cannot get a document notarized with an expired ID. The next step would require witnesses and the notary has to know them personally. That would make it nearly impossible for me to notarize anything for you.

If you know anyone who is getting a new job and needs and I-9 form completed, please refer them to me. It's a simple form that is completed online. No matter what kind of neighborhood you live in, DON'T leave your wallet in your car overnight. Locked or unlocked, thieves will find it. Within hours, your life will be unhappily changed. Just a word of advice from your favorite notary! :)

Keeping your private information private:

Today I was reminded how important it is to double check what you are doing when sending out your private information to a company. This poor notary made a terrible mistake today. One of our companies that we work for, asked for all notaries to fill out an ACH form (direct deposit form). We were told to write out our name, address, phone number, company ID number and then write in our bank name, routing and account number and then include a voided check.

Instead of reading the instructions to send this form privately to a secure e-mail, she scanned the document and then proceeded to send this very private letter to every single notary on the list. We are talking about hundreds of people. I can't imagine what horror she is feeling right now.

BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU ARE DOING WHEN SENDING IMPORTANT PRIVATE INFORMATION OVER THE INTERNET!!
