Handcrafted for your Home, right here in Central Texas.

This morning was one of those reminders that encouragement shows up right when you need it.

I had two separate conversations with a couple of guys that spoke directly into my life as an entrepreneur. It’s never a bad time to hear testimonies of God’s goodness and provision, and today was full of it.

Moments like that don’t just happen—they matter. They build you up, refocus you, and remind you why you started.

“Iron sharpens iron,” and I’m thankful for the role these men played in that today.

If you’re in Hays County and need banking services, I highly recommend Curtis Garcia over at Texas Regional Bank—solid people and great service.

And if you’re near San Marcos, swing by Consecrated Grounds. The coffee is great, but the conversation is even better.

Who’s someone that’s encouraged you lately?

You know that awkward space above the refrigerator that just collects dust (or random items you forget about)? We turned this one into something beautiful and useful.

Custom-built deep cabinets made from knotty alder and finished with Rubio Monocoat Pure—designed to blend seamlessly into the home while adding valuable storage where it matters most.

For busy households, especially here in Central Texas, having a kitchen that works for you makes all the difference. More storage means less clutter, more calm, and a space that feels put together without sacrificing style.

And I have to say—projects like this are why I love what I do. Helping turn a house into a home for my clients is incredibly rewarding every single time.

If you’ve been thinking about improving your kitchen’s functionality, this is a simple upgrade that makes a big impact.

👉 Send me a message and let’s talk about what’s possible in your space.

This project is a perfect example of how a simple upgrade can completely elevate a room.

We added picture frame moulding with a chair rail, and it instantly brought structure, depth, and a more finished, high-end look to the space. It’s one of those details that people may not always notice right away—but they feel the difference as soon as they walk in.

And I’ve got to say—this one was a blast to build. There’s something really satisfying about laying everything out, getting the spacing just right, and watching it all come together clean and sharp.

If you’ve got a room that feels a little flat or unfinished, this is one of the best ways to transform it without a full remodel.

What do y’all think—would you do something like this in your home?

If you’re interested in upgrading your space, send me a message. I’d be happy to help you bring your vision to life.

There’s something powerful about a space that finally works the way it should.

This project was all about transforming an underutilized area into something both functional and beautiful—custom floating shelves and cabinetry, all built from white oak and carefully matched to the existing finishes. Even the countertop was crafted to tie everything together seamlessly.

Now it’s not just storage—it’s a feature. Clean, intentional, and built to elevate the entire room.
If you’ve got a space in your home that feels like it’s “almost there,” this is what’s possible with the right design and craftsmanship.

What’s one area in your home you wish worked better for you? Drop it in the comments—I’d love to hear.

And if you know someone who’s been talking about upgrading their space, share this with them.

One year ago, I took the leap into full-time entrepreneurship.

In many ways, it feels like it’s flown by—but in that time, I’ve learned more than I could have imagined. And at the same time, I’m reminded daily of how much there still is to learn in the years ahead. As the saying goes, “it’s not the destination, it’s the journey”—and this first year has shown me just how true that really is.

After spending 20 years serving entrepreneurs in the banking industry, I thought I had a solid understanding of what it took to run a business. This past year has given me an entirely new level of respect for the dedication, endurance, and resilience it requires day in and day out.

To my clients—thank you for your trust. It means more than you know.

To my family and friends—thank you for your constant support, encouragement, and belief in me.

To Jacquie and Casey at the Buda EDC, and Monica and Rosemary at the Greater Buda Chamber of Commerce—thank you for investing in this community and for sharing your time, knowledge, and expertise so generously.

And most importantly, to my wife, Kourtney—there aren’t enough words. You have been a steady source of strength, encouragement, and grace through every high and low this past year. You truly are my better half, and I’m beyond grateful to walk this road with you.

Above all, I thank the Lord for His guidance, provision, and faithfulness through it all!

If you’re a business owner, I’d love to hear from you—what’s something you wish you had learned sooner?

👇 Drop it in the comments—I know I’m still learning every day.

There’s something special about taking a brand-new house and helping it feel like home.

For this project, we installed wood ceiling coverings and custom cedar beams to bring warmth, character, and a little bit of the Texas Hill Country into the heart of the home. Natural wood has a way of transforming a space—adding depth, texture, and that feeling you just can’t get with drywall alone.

Every beam and board was carefully installed to create the look of solid timber construction while keeping the structure clean and refined.

Projects like this are exactly why I love what I do. Turning a vision into something tangible that families will live with and enjoy for decades.

Authentic Craftsmanship. Hill Country Roots.

If you’re building or renovating and want to add natural wood elements that truly elevate your space, send me a message or drop a comment below.

This custom built-in is officially complete — now fully finished with paint and ready to be filled with books, photos, and the things that make a house feel like home.

Projects like this are my favorite because they combine function, storage, and a statement piece all in one wall.

If this were in your home…📚 Would you style it with books, decor, or a mix of both?

Let me know in the comments 👇

If you’ve been thinking about adding a custom built-in, library wall, or storage solution to your space, send me a message — I’d love to help bring it to life.

The shop has been full of sawdust and gratitude lately.

We’ve got several floating shelf and custom cabinet projects underway, and I’m incredibly thankful for the continued trust from this community. Every piece that leaves the shop represents someone inviting my work into their home — and that’s not something I take lightly.

From clean, modern floating shelves to fully custom cabinetry built to fit your space, it’s a privilege to bring these projects to life.

Thank you for keeping J.K. Oliver Woodworks busy and growing. If you’ve been thinking about adding custom woodwork to your home, now’s a great time to start the conversation.

There’s a reason end-grain boards are the gold standard in kitchens.
They’re easier on your knives, incredibly durable, and—when made from walnut—flat-out beautiful.

Each of these boards is handcrafted with care and built to last for years of daily use. And if you want to make it extra special, I offer custom engraving—names, dates, or a message that turns a great board into a meaningful keepsake.

I currently have a limited number available for quick delivery, which makes these a great option if you’re shopping for a gift that feels thoughtful and personal.

💬 Send me a message if you’d like to see available boards or talk through an engraving idea.
