Our this week is Dorothy Harrison Eustis. She was living in Switzerland, training police dogs when she discovered that there was a school in Germany where dogs were being trained to be guides for those blinded in war. This inspired her to write "The Seeing Eye" which caught the attention of Morris Frank, a blind American man. Frank asked if Eustis could train a dog for him, which she did. Soon enough, the two came together to set up the first guide dog school in the U.S. called The Seeing Eye.
