We’re in the navy now ! ( swipe for before) Love the color and the name of this awesome paint from . This was a commission piece that was sentimental to my client and a family heirloom, so often we have older pieces from loved ones they don’t exactly fit our current day style—-what better way to honor and actually keep it in use so you love it then by giving it some updated love! That’s exactly what they did here by choosing this gorgeous navy , exposing the wood top and leaving the original hardware as an homage to the original look. Same piece but with a classic yet up to date makeover! Do you have something from a loved one you could make even more special in your family collection? 💗

When I got this original cedar lane chest ( swipe to see) I knew two things: It’s awful and it’s awesome. I can’t look but also can’t look away (and I do love a good challenge.) It was heavy and felt “ medieval” so I knew I needed to lighten it up quite a bit so I didn’t feel like I went directly back to 1462 every time I looked at it. I did that with the white paint/ light wood top, fresh summer/ spring colors but also by pulling of the bottom wood that was originally covering the wheels. Covering wheels? Never. Wheels are awesome. The colored flowers was a last minute whim,( typical ) ( not the colors the impulse choices 🤣) and wallah! We have a bohemian summer chest! Smells like Christmas looks like summer what more can you ask for ?!

What is that saying .....you can take the girl out of Boston but ..... 😂I took this pic a few years back when I was dry walling a tattoo shop in Brooklyn. I was doing the acting thing at the time and I needed to pay rent so I white lied my way into a drywall job saying I grew up in the trade watching my Dad , when in fact I had never done it in my life. The owners has been referred to me off of an apartment I had just renovated in Queens( another job I figured out as I went - thanks internet and desperately needing to make rent !) They took a a chance on a random girl in her 20’s who hardly looked like the right candidate for the job. I voraciously studied all the techniques of how to tape and mud drywall online every night for a week, watched every YouTube video I could find - and somehow pulled it off. I watched and smiled the biggest smile to myself inside as I watched all the construction men coming in and out say it was the best damn tape and mud job they had ever seen, who did it? When they pointed to me I chucked it off to a women’s finesse and attention to detail, oh and all those years helping my Dad! ( I was actually raised by my BadAss Mom!) 🤫But I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t proud. I took this picture one day I was taking a break from the job. I looked down and saw my getup covered in joint compound and the classic north east beverage of choice in my hand and realized that another saying is true—“ wherever you go , there you are.” Grateful for the get it done, no bu****it, push forth spirit of my hometown, Boston , that has been instilled in me no matter where I have lived ,and I move a lot ! As attitudey, proud and sarcastic as we may be , we have grit. And having grit—the ability to keep going when it’s hard, I feel, more than anything else, allows you to succeed. My time back in Boston the past few months I was really able to embrace the qualities that make it the place that it is and in part , me who I am. It’s a place full of smart ass, no nonsense, funny, hardworking, proud, strong people with huge hearts who will have your back in a second if you need it and I’m very proud to say this is where I’m from.

Hey everyone or should I say Sawadee Ka ! I sort of have some HUGE news! I moved to Thailand ! 😆✌🏼 Not forever - just for the next 6 months ( winter season back home so 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻) I will be living and teaching English to high school students in the rural Northeast of Thailand. This has been a dream of mine for as long as I can recall and I think in life sometimes you just have to go for it and stop waiting for all the cards to line up and things to be “ ready and right” because we all know that day usually doesn’t come 😂. That being said I decided to take a short break from my business to expand my global awareness and life experience repository!! So here I Am !!!! I did it! I’m so excited for this amazing adventure and looking forward to the incredible inspiration I will be getting and will be able to bring back with me and incorporate into my furniture and craft. Stay tuned for some beautiful photos and more! 😊🙏🏻😆✌🏼💗🐘🐿🐲

This may be the simplest piece I’ve ever done but sometimes understated is a statement itself. I painted this piece in in the color Caviar. I left the original hardware but sanded it down And distressed it to give it an interesting patina —- and wallah ! 👍🏻😁
