I made a couple bedside tables for my wife and I. I’m pretty happy with them. The stain looks a lot better indoor as the piece darkens with lower light, but in the sunlight it has sort of a barf green tint to it. •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

The Walnut music stand is assembled and I have one sealer coat of 50-50 denatured alcohol/shellac. Going to spend a little bit of time with my family then a couple coats of polyurethane to finish it up. This walnut that I’m using has a really active grain to it !•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• #

I need to sand and apply finish to the stretcher beam before I install it permanently as well as a few tweaks here and there on the live edge and sand the top. Finally getting somewhere which means I should be applying some finish on it within the next day or two. If all goes as planned delivery will be in one week from now. •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

One thing I absolutely love is to see my projects in their home. Often the most we see is what they are on the work table, but don’t always get the opportunity to see what they actually become. ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• @ Burbank, California

It’s hard to capture a good finish with a cell phone picture, but you can get an idea of how nice this dura seal water-based polyurethane is. The bench top is totally dry here. ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• @ Burbank, California

My uncle Jimmy died saving the world in 1942 on the USS Houston during the final battle of Sunda Strait. I never really knew a lot about his fait. I reached out to a survivor Association of the USS Houston and was able to find out when he passed. Unfortunately the Houston sunk to the bottom and there’s not a whole lot known after that outside of stories told by the survivors as it was a great mystery and wasn’t officially found until 2014 at the bottom of the Java sea. The nickname of the USS Houston was “The galloping ghost”. This picture is the email that was sent back to me. My uncle Butch’s middle name is James named after uncle jimmy. •••••••••••

Finally got the door back with the glass in it and set the guitar holder. I will be installing this tomorrow. I’m really pleased with this passable Guitar display cabinet •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• @ Burbank, California
