*Making room for multi-generation living*

Many of today’s homeowners are planning for tomorrow, often by making space for an elderly family member or a returning offspring. Whether it’s caretaking or economic considerations, families are exploring the option of a multi-generational home and the changes it brings. At The Transformed Tree, we work closely with homeowners to define and design spaces unique to each family’s considerations. From a full-scale home addition to creating private personal spaces with separate entrances, adding accessible showers, easy-to-open windows, wider doorways, and more, we’ll collaborate to create spaces that serve your household’s evolving needs. * IKEA-infused inspiration *
We recognize that not every budget can accommodate a completely custom-built kitchen. Enter IKEA. Over the years, we have found IKEA cabinetry to be a reliable resource when needed. Crisp, clean designs. A variety of styles to choose from. We’ve even become assembly experts! When the project calls for it, we are open to the option and have been happy with the outcomes. The color gurus at Pantone have proclaimed Pantone 11-4201 Cloud Dancer as the 2026 Color of the Year. Stating it “displays a conscious state of simplification, encouraging true relaxation and quiet focus for those seeking moments of disconnection and rest.” Sound ideal for our home? Maybe! Whatever your color choices, we’ll work with you to ensure your home’s mood hits the mark. Timeless transformation honors home’s heritage - It was a special 1903 home in south Minneapolis that persuaded these empty nesters to move back to the city. This “fixer-upper” project was a collaboration with the homeowners, Albertsson Hansen Architecture, and our Transformed Tree team. A 250-square-foot addition, an expansive new kitchen, a spacious new bathroom off the second-floor primary bedroom, and many more updates brought welcome modern-day touches to this historic home.
