If you know, you know.
We zoomed in on this antique Heart Pine beam for a reason. Look at that grain per inch.

This tree grew for 500 to 600 years before it was harvested 150 years ago. That slow growth created incredible density.

Most people don't realize that this antique pine is actually harder and heavier than Red Oak.

You simply cannot find wood like this today. It is a resource we will never see again.

Wait for the impact.
We do not just buy reclaimed materials. We go out and get them.

Jim is behind the controls here. He dropped this massive chimney straight down so we could harvest the antique brick.

"100 years of history gone" but not exactly.
We are saving this history to give it a new life.

This project shows exactly what beam wraps can do.

We supplied the reclaimed wood for the Funky Buddha brewery. Our installer Jerrard handled the rest.

These trusses look like massive structural timbers. In reality, they are expertly crafted wraps using our reclaimed material.

It gives the space that heavy industrial feel without rebuilding the roof.

Jerrard knocked this one out of the park.

We are looking back at our roots today.

Our founder Jim shared a photo of the very first Carolina Beams office. We have been doing this for over three decades now.

You can also see some of the classic reclaimed brick work we specialized in back then. We have always loved materials with real history and texture.

It is amazing to see how far we have come while sticking to the same standards.

The work is hard but the team is great.

Preparing reclaimed wood is a dusty job. It involves chainsaws and heavy sanding to get that perfect look.

You have to keep the energy up somehow.

Watch until the end to see how we stay loose in the warehouse.

We are proud to be part of the local Charlotte food scene.

Here are a few shots of the reclaimed cladding we installed at Blackfinn in Ballantyne.

This project shows how reclaimed wood can transform a commercial space. It brings instant history and character to the room. You can see how the wood texture warms up the bar area and the booths.

We loved working with the Blackfinn team to make this happen.

Support local and stop by for dinner this week. You can check out the craftsmanship while you eat.

Action shot of Mr. Steve grind sanding the ends of this antique Heart Pine mantel. He is working to smooth out the fresh cuts so they blend perfectly with the original surface of the beam.

This is true Longleaf Pine which is known for its extreme density and durability. We estimate this specific beam was harvested about 150 years ago.

Take a close look at the end grain when the camera zooms in. The rings are so tight that you can barely count them without a magnifying glass. That density indicates the tree grew slowly for 500 or 600 years. It is rare to handle wood with this much history.
