Hemby Bridge Fire Department had the opportunity to utilize residential structures scheduled for demolition by a developer, where our firefighters were able to take advantage of some valuable hands-on training!

Crews focused on sharpening their skills in roof ventilation and Vent, Enter, Isolate, Search (VEIS). Practicing critical techniques in a realistic environment helps prepare for real world emergencies.

This training also provided an excellent opportunity to work alongside our mutual aid partners showcasing the coordination required to operate on a fire scene.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and our firefighters are proud to wear pink in support of those fighting breast cancer, those who have survived, and those we have lost.

In the fire service, we talk every day about the importance of prevention and early detection, and that message goes far beyond fire safety. Early detection can make a difference. Use this month as a reminder to talk with your healthcare provider and stay up to date with recommended mammograms and screenings.
