Storytimeeeeee! It is a long one 🤷🏿♀️
17 years later, I found my way back.
I’ll always be an athlete. There were so many people, moments, and lessons that shaped that journey. My track coach, Joe Sims 🕊️, rest so well. My big bro who has been my virtual coach this season, but from the beginning we were the bro/sis track stars. My friend Jasmine , my jump squad from UW… and so so many more.
These days I’m chasing something different. I want to be an even better coach than I ever was an athlete.
Track gave me so much. Now I get to pour back into the sport, the kids, and the community that helped shape me.
Full circle.
I love it here. 💛

5/13/25 .. One year post full right Achilles tendon rupture. What a journey this has been!
As an athlete, this was always one of my biggest fears… and then it actually happened. The physical recovery was hard, but the mental recovery challenged me even more. This past year was full of highs and lows, tears, rebuilding confidence, forcing myself to pause, learning my body again, and trying to trust myself through it all.
What made it even heavier was the timing. I tore my Achilles the day before my final day at a job I needed to leave, while also transitioning out of a relationship. So much at once and transition has never been easy for me.
I’m so thankful for the people who supported me through this chapter. My village truly carried me in so many ways. My people took on being my legs, stepping in to transport True to school, checked in on my mental, came by to simply see me…
Huge thank you to Delaney .17 , my physical therapist who by luck of the draw I got the perfect person to help me through my biggest injury. My insurance sucks, and landing on her list i feel was no coincidence. Thank you for the countless hours of PT, encouragement, patience, and motivation throughout this process. And more than anything to opportunity to know an athlete and human like you.
Thomas , my personal trainer, literally on day one had me sprinting on a treadmill. I appreciate you pushing the limits my mind has the ability keeps me stuck. He is insane and for that he comes with high recommendation.
More than anything, this experience deepened my gratitude. There are abilities we often take for granted every single day, and this journey opened my eyes in a completely different way. My word this year is thrive.. and I’m proud that, even through all of this, I’ve continued to do exactly that.
Still healing. Still growing. Still thriving. 💛
This room came together through community, creativity, and a whole lot of love. I giggle every time I see this door hanger I made. All throughout the time I was working on the room, 3 year old Ayah would come in and say “What you doing in here? This me and my baby brudder room!” And that it is ..😍
Huge thank you to Araic for these beautiful captures of this space through her Storytelling Captures service with Dear Brown You. These are live, organic moments that feel real, warm, and intentional. Video + photos that tell the story, not just show the outcome. I’m so excited to continue working with you! Support !!
So grateful for friends who see the vision and help hold it.
Final reveal for this Holiday Room Project is up next ✨💛

Community, I need your help! 💛
I often chose a creative project to help a family in need for the holidays. This year, I am supporting a young single mom that I know professionally who is navigating pregnancy, parenting a toddler, and doing everything she can with limited support.
She is 23 years old, has a 3 year old daughter and is expecting a newborn son by New Year’s Day. She was not able to have a baby shower and is starting from scratch with newborn items.
Through Jes Do It Yourself, I’ll be gifting her a full room makeover.. so paint, decor, organization, baby essentials, and creating a space for both of her babies to share.
I’m donating my time, labor, and skill 😌 but I am calling on my village to help with the rest.
Here’s what we need :
🧸 new or gently used baby items
🍼 Diapers, wipes, baby clothes, bottles
🛏️ nursery esssntials
🎨funds for paint, supplies, decor, and storage solutions
Goal is $1,000 - $1500 to transform the space from top to bottom
Follow the process here on IG. I will put some heart in this and help this mama feel held by the community as she brings her son into the world.
Items can also be dropped off or shipped DM for details.
Thank you for helping me give back this season!
💛 Jes!
Congrats to the Bakersons!! 👰🏾🤵🏾
My beautiful, talented, and creative friends tied the knot this past weekend and it was nothing short of magic. 💍
I was honored to add a few Jes Do It Yourself touches to their beautiful and well crafted day. The custom name place settings for the bridal party and for the couple and a custom cake topper were all cut with love on my Glowforge.
Wishing you both a lifetime of love, laughter, and legacy. I love y’all deep. 🫶🏿

Today is my birthday and a celebration of life!
I think this is where it all comes together… there’s so much love around me. We were blessed to lay Monty to rest today and see all the love around him. And it’s so heartfelt that today of all days was your home going. 🕊️
I want to introduce y’all to my next business venture that is my private practice: HeART Culture Therapy! .
I am beginning a journey of combining all of the things that make me me. The lover girl, the creative, the clinical therapist, the culture, the chill, the cussing, the creating spaces, writing love notes, and being a great friend. The therapist in me has to build a home for all of these things to exist and flow and be free. something that It feels like alignment. And though unfinished and imperfect, we’re going to “Jes Do It” if you will. There wasn’t any room at the current table.. so we are creating our own. 🤭
I’m hella excited to continue to do the work and be LOVE. Go follow !! Shoutout to for the headshots! Book her.
Thank you for loving me ! 💛🎨

19 days into the New Year … Are we standing on business?
2024 began with a small group of my amazing friends in home talking about intentions. My word for the year is “fulfillment.” This year I am going to choose me, my joy, my mental health, and draw to the things that make me smile..while making myself smile. Putting myself first has historically been a foreign concept for me, but these ten toes are now planted. This has already began to draw me to where I need to be.
As for Jes Do It Yourself, I plan to do these pieces of my business that bring me the most joy. That is definitely the decor aspect. Gone head and speak my names in rooms of people and businesses that wish to have me make their spaces come alive.
Thinking of my next project, which will likely be for my own home & space. I’m so excited! Happy New Year, y’all. I would love to hear about what you are manifesting!

It’s A Vibe!!!
Finishing up my first interior project of this new year. Adding a few custom signs and decor items to create the vibe. I love buying decor items.. one of my favorite things to do. But creating things that you can’t find in stores is so special.
I hope to do more of it in 2023.. in bold & creative ways. 🎨💛
