Blessing boxes are public, outdoor cabinets stocked with non-perishable items, basic toiletries and baby items. Items are anonymously donated and anonymously received. A simple rule applies: leave what you can, take what you need.

Children are a major part of SNAP, with nearly 40% of all recipients being children, according to the USDA. Want to help families affected by the SNAP cuts? Here’s how:
🥫 Donate food — healthy, shelf-stable items and produce are our largest. Right now, we especially need canned beans, oatmeal, canned fruits and vegetables, pasta and spaghetti sauce, low-sugar cereals, canned chicken, peanut butter and jelly.
💵 Give financially — your donations help us purchase food and fill gaps when shelves run low: backpackbeginnings.org/donate
🕒 Volunteer your time — help volunteer in our warehouse or assist with a drive-thru event. To sign up for warehouse work, please visit backpackbeginnings.org/volunteer.
If you’d like to volunteer at one of these drive-thru events, please email [email protected] with your preferred date. Please note these will be held outdoors and may involve some lifting.
