Advocacy Update! Amendment threatens Peace Corps Funding.
An amendment proposed by Representative Scott Perry (PA) to eliminate funding for the Peace Corps is scheduled to be voted on by the full House of Representatives, when they consider House Bill 8595 (H.R. 8595), the Fiscal Year 2027 appropriations bill for the State Department and other international operations. House votes on H.R. 8595 are expected on Thursday, June 25th.
What is needed most right now is sending letters and calling your Representatives. Please visit and share with your networks the link to our Action Center here - https://www.peacecorpsconnect.org/npca-advocacy/email-congress/.
(Note: messages are not being sent to Senators; this amendment is only in the House).

CARV manned a Peace Corps tent at the Cincinnati Earth Day festival on Sunday April 19th. The tent was packed with RPCVs and constantly busy with visitors interested in Peace Corps service. Over the 5 hours, more than 60 people came by to learn about the Peace Corps. A number of Cincinnati-area RPCVs who are not (yet) members of CARV also stopped by. Thank you Mike, Don, Katie, Pete, Maggie, and all the other RPCVs who helped!
