Major shoutout to Patrick Paul who was selected in the second round of the national football league. The Offensive lineman a collegiate all American at the University of Houston was selected 55th overall by the Miami Dolphins. Paul is a first-team all- Big 12 conference honoree holds the nation's best pass block grade among tackles (91.5), permitting only one sack in 469 opportunities. He is the grandson of the former Nigerian president Johnson Aguivi-Ironsi and the younger brother of NFL offensive guard Chris Paul. Patrick was born in Houston, Tx but when to his live in his parents homeland of Nigeria for 2 years after birth to which he moved back to Houston. Paul attended Jersey Village High School and Cy Creek High School his sophomore year where he was rated a 3 star recruit. Let’s continue to support Patrick on his journey in the NFL as he's a representations of the talent that our district produces.

Due to the recent storm and widespread power outages our community has experienced, spring 2024 final exams for seniors will be waived. Any senior needing to take the final exam to improve his/her overall average may contact the director of instruction on their campus.

Exams for underclassmen, grades 9-11, will continue as scheduled for Tuesday-Friday of next week.

Five people died as a result of Thursday's damaging storms ripped through Houston and surrounding areas.

City officials said one of the deaths happened on North Main Street and 610. ABC13's Shannon Ryan was at that scene, where a tree had toppled over a home.
According to the city, two of the deaths were from fallen trees, while one was from a crane that blew over. In Cypress, a woman died in a mobile home fire.
