My Grandfather would have turned 103 today. In honor of this great man, I thought I’d share a short story.

My grandmother once told my grandfather having a “miscellaneous” drawer didn’t make sense. Even the miscellaneous items deserved their own individually labeled drawer.

I recall his little smirk when he showed me his solution. He painted over the “miscellaneous” and wrote in “marine hardware”. Problem solved, he said.

So much of who I am and what has grown JDW is attributed to Edson M. Pyle. I am so thankful to have learned from such an extraordinary man.
