Dallas Teen Sentenced to Life in Prison for Fatally Shooting 17-Year-Old Girl

Trevon Wright, an 18-year-old from Dallas, Texas, has been sentenced to life in prison for the first-degree murder of 17-year-old Ikea Hood. The incident occurred on January 7, 2024, when Wright fatally shot Hood, who was his on-again, off-again girlfriend, in her home in southeast Oak Cliff. Hood, a Lancaster High School student and member of the Tigerette drill team, had recently given birth to a baby girl.
