Each has a special meaning: purple for justice, green for faith, and gold for power. These three colors were chosen by the first Krewe of Rex to be the heraldry for the King of Carnival. That's why you'll see these colors all over the city from garlands and decorations to clothing and even the color of our houses - the Crescent City is decked out in purple, green, and gold all season long. 💜💚💛
