Why pay for a full slab when your project only needs part of it? At CS Woods, we’re rethinking how you buy wood. For many projects—tables, countertops, and more—we’re happy to cut slabs to your rough size. If the remaining piece (the drop) is something we can resell, you won’t be charged for it. It’s a smarter, more efficient way to build—one that respects both your budget and the material.
This is a case-by-case offering, based on the size and usability of the cutoff, but when it works, it’s a game changer. Most suppliers won’t even consider it. We will. It means you get the exact slab you need—nothing more, nothing wasted—while we find a future for the rest.

This one started local. A tree that had to come down—removed for the right reasons—and given a second life the right way. Watch the drop as the logs roll out of the truck (you’ll feel it), then the crew steps in: forklift precision, careful placement, clean-up, reload, and on to the mill.

These logs are alive with moisture—sap flowing, fibers fresh—and that’s exactly where great slabs begin. From here: milling → kiln drying → back to CS Woods in Denver, ready to become tables, bar tops, and one-of-a-kind pieces with a Colorado story behind them.

We’re selective with local sourcing, and this one checked every box—responsible removal, strong relationships, and great material.
