When a roman shade is fabricated I always try to line up the vertical rings and tape with the mullions on the window, especially when the roman shade is on the front of the house. Sometimes roman shades need to be adjusted after installed so they’re nice and straight

Cafe curtains have been used in homes for years but so glad to see they’re being used more right now in design. So functional and cozy feeling without blocking all the light

Working with exquisite textiles is a dream for a fabricator. Constructing roman shades are one of my favorites. The detail is so important. The bonus of a roman shade is the function but it’s a beautiful treatment as well.

What an honor to work with on the Woodward house. This beautifully crafted 1931 Georgian Colonial home has symmetrical windows on the front of the house. Functional relaxed Roman Shades were selected for the 2nd floor in a beautiful neutral linen that was used for all the shades to keep the classic English style Jean does so well.

My mom who is not a seamstress picked this used sewing machine and junior size scissors out for me. I have used both of these during more than half of my custom drapery, and Slipcover years in business. I don't know that she will ever understand how special her interest in my sewing at such a young age has meant to me.

When I was 10 years old, I was hired to be a mother's helper of two darling children but I was really more interested in the sewing Mrs. Jacobs was doing. So we made a deal. I played with her children and she taught me how to sew. My first project was to see gingham curtains in the kids playhouse. 49 years later I am still in love with gingham Fabric and Sewing
