Hillsborough County, Florida just arrested 50 unlicensed contractors in one sting. It’s a good reminder for homeowners and property managers here in Middle Tennessee too.
Before anyone paints, remodels or repairs your property, ask three questions:
Are you licensed? In Tennessee you can look up any contractor at verify.tn.gov
Are you insured? Ask for a certificate of insurance before work starts
Will you put it in writing? That means a written scope, price and warranty
An unlicensed contractor might quote low, but if something goes wrong, you’re the one left holding the bill.
