If you see Dan, the MAN Today, wish him a Happy Birthday!🎊 SO much to Celebrate this Week! Yesterday, we Celebrated Dan’s LIFELONG BEST FRIEND (Randy Fuller) on his Birthday after he & his Wife Patti made the trip up to NY to Celebrate both Dan & Randy’s Birthdays, & Maureen & Dan’s 39th Anniversary (Tomorrow) together!! That’s right, Tomorrow marks 45 YEARS of Marriage between the Founder’s of Decorators Choice of Hornell, aka, Hornell’s High School Sweethearts, & the REAL POWER COUPLE who’ve LIVED & WORKED SIDE-BY-SIDE since 1981!! From becoming Hornell’s Local DJ’s (who built all their own equipment) & provided memories for so many Locals through their AWESOME Sound/Light Performances, to then owning their Body Shop where they worked on those Retro Muscle Cars that we all know & love (&, that some of us still want… cough, cough 🙋🏼♀️ haha), & finally, Owning & Operating their 2 EMPIRES of Businesses:
•Comnet Securities (The Multi-State Security/ Park WiFi Business he Co-Owns with his Business Partner in Florida, flying back & forth in between working 7 Days/Week for Years ((after becoming Certified to install Security Systems which involved Dan driving to NYC EVERY WEEKEND FOR 8 WEEKS to be Tested after studying every Night after working all Day)), &… THEIR BABY,
•Decorator’s Choice on 37 Seneca St. in Hornell, where they started w/ pretty much nothing in their youth (many weeks in the beginning having sacrificed their own paychecks to make sure their Employees were ALWAYS PAID) while juggling multiple Rentals they fixed up & rented, flipping House after House all over the Townsville, & quite LITERALLY BUILDING their Business from the GROUND-UP. (See last 2 photos below of the addition in which my Dad & Mom built while simultaneously remodeling the ENTIRE 4 Floor Building that you all know as Decorator’s Choice), creating a work environment that involved them working TIRELESSLY on w/ our Loyal WORK FAMILY…. &, that’s just what we’ve become, FAMILY.
**Let’s not forget the fact that Maureen also works with HPG & Dan is Town Super of Hornellsville, both working to better the Community like they’ve been doing for 40 YEARS!!
I think it says A LOT about the type of People my Parent’s are… having both LIFELONG FRIENDSHIPS SINCE CHILDHOOD that involve still seeing each other regularly, despite being on opposite ends of the East Coast, AND, HAVING BUILT A SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS OF 37+ YEARS THAT CONTINUES TO GROW & THRIVE….where their Employees have remained LOYAL to them for DECADES; &, even securing 2, SECOND GENERATION EMPLOYEES (Collin Kratzer & I) who LITERALLY GREW UP at the Showroom, running, roller blading & scooting around on our Razor Scooters EVERY DAY while unknowingly learning about the Business since we were TOTS, resulting in the both of us officially becoming apart of the Work Family in our early 20’s.
I’d argue that these accomplishments & relationships alone speak VOLUMES about the type of People Dan & Maureen are!!
