After a week of going in circles, Facebook finally told me they “can’t find any issues.” Meanwhile, every time a new rep was assigned to my case, they asked the exact same questions like we were starting from scratch.

IT Tech: Have you submitted a report?
(This is the third time they’ve asked me this.)

Me: Why are you even talking to me if you’re not reading the case notes? It’s not like you’re checking in to see how I’m doing.

IT Tech: Have you tried another browser?

Me: Of course I have. The problem isn’t my browser — it’s the app. I can’t see when people message me, and when I do get something, it’s delayed. But yes, I’ve tried multiple browsers.

IT Tech: Can you send us a video of the issue?

Me: Yes. (Sends video.)

Next day, new rep, same script. We get to the video part again.

IT Tech: I don’t hear any volume.

Me: Volume? What volume are you expecting? You asked me to record the issue. There’s no sound involved. Do you need me to narrate the problem out loud?

IT Tech: Yes, record yourself.

Me: …Okay. (Records another video.)

And then — I kid you not —

IT Tech: Have you submitted a report?

Facebook support has been… well, like talking to a brick wall. We’re still working with them to get this Messenger issue fixed, but it hasn’t been much help so far.

Sorry again for any delays in our replies. We’re not ignoring anyone — the messages just aren’t coming through on our end.
