Just a quick post with a quick tutorial about how to age Terra cotta pots.
1. Add a little water to a small amount of garden lime until you create a runny paste that can be brushed on the pots. Let it dry ( pic #2).
2. Lightly sand the pots to create more texture while also smoothing out the finish. Make sure to expose some of the pot Underneath the lime. Rinse off the dust and let dry.
3. Apply dark antiquing wax and immediately wipe off some with a rag. This will create dimension in the finish (pic #3)
4. Spray with a MATTE clear sealer.

Let’s let freedom ring and celebrate our patriotic spirit! This easy craft project costs less than $20 to create and will transform your home or porch into a place that celebrates our country! Just have a 4X4 post cut into various lengths, paint them with a base coat of white chalk paint, use masking tape and sticker stars to plan your design, and then add your red and blue chalk paint. You may need a couple of coats to get full coverage over the white. Let them dry, remove your tape, sand them to give them a rustic look and add some rope for the fuse. I taped off the rope and then put some clear glue on the ends to keep it from unraveling and then removed the tape once the glue was dry. Also I used a 3/4” paddle bit to make a recess hole to insert the tip of the fuse in for better stability.
