Northern Outdoor Woodworks Welcome to Northern Outdoor Woodworks specializing in outdoor equipment and furniture. Custom orders are welcome. That's what got me started.

Have you ever found yourself in need of something and you either 1) can't find it or 2) what you find is poorly made? It was out of necessity that I began building various items to fit my needs. My wife then began adding to that list, too. I've been building for myself and close others for 15+ years; all of it self-taught. Inspired by nature, my passion is working with natural resources, especially those that would otherwise go to waste. As much as I hate to see us lose trees, Mother Nature sometimes has other plans. Instead of letting materials be lost forever, I enjoy creating sturdy furniture that preserves the natural beauty and rawness of the wood.

Here is a biscuit from an old growth White Pine. Its amazing story finally came to an end by a tiny little insect, the Pine Bore or Bark Beetle. The stories that it holds within its rings are so often forgotten these days.
