Ever wonder why a brand-new commercial chair starts sagging after just 12–18 months? Here’s what’s actually hiding inside. 🧵👇

When you buy mass-produced corporate furniture, the sleek outer fabric often masks cost-cutting materials designed to break down fast so you're forced to replace it.

Here is what we usually find when we strip down commercial pieces:

🚫 Low-Density Standard Foam: Quickly loses resilience, flattens out, and turns into crumbly dust under daily use.

🚫 Particle Board & Cardboard Fillers: Used to hold shape instead of structural hardwood, making frames prone to cracking under high traffic.

🚫 Lightweight Staples & Thin Vinyl: Stretches, tears at seams, and peels rapidly under commercial wear and tear.

The Custom Difference:

When we restore or build custom pieces, we build them to survive real, daily commercial traffic:

✅ High-Resilience (HR) High-Density Foam that maintains comfort for years.

✅ Solid Hardwood Frames and reinforced joinery.

✅ High-Wear Commercial Fabrics & Leathers rated for tens of thousands of double rubs

The light pink velvet is the before and the burgundy velvet is the after! To achieve a deeper tuft, we recessed the buttons further than they initially were and it turned out perfect for the display at a brand new High Tea spot coming to Asheville! ✨☕️🛋️

We’re currently working on this piece from a commercial furniture company, and it’s safe to say it would never have left our shop in its original state. Thankfully, our client asked us to renew it with a stunning w**e finish, so it’ll be leaving here looking like a total work of art! 🍷🎨✨
