I’m pleased to unveil my most recent Custom Creation: a toy box commissioned by my friend to hold all her dog’s toys!

I made a hand-carved nameplate for the front, cut out bone-shaped grab handles on the sides, and used dowel plugs to hide all the screws.

This was a lot of work, especially the hand carving, but I’m very pleased with how it turned out. I had a ton of fun making this, and would love to make something similar for your furry friends!

I’m pleased to unveil my latest custom creation: a big, chunky end-grain cutting board! This bad boy is about 13” by 19” by 1.5” thick, and heavy as sin!

Hard Maple, Walnut, Cherry, and Purpleheart, with routed juice groove and handles, finished in a blend of Mineral Oil & purified Beeswax.

This sucker took a ton of work to make (soooo much sanding 😩), but it was worth every minute!

My first official project on the lathe: a vase for my mother’s birthday!

I used Purpleheart, Hard Maple, Walnut, and Red Oak, then sanded and finished with purified beeswax. I loaded it with artificial flowers so she’ll never have to water them 👍🏻

This project was a great way to learn on the lathe! I was SO nervous drilling the hole in the top, but it all worked out great!

My first woodturning project on the lathe is a… nothing in particular really, but I had a lot of fun making it!

Adding a lathe to my shop opens up a huge world of possibilities for things I can create for my customers, friends, and family! I can make vases, bowls, pens, mallets, rolling pins, table legs, baseball bats, and probably a million other things.

So excited to expand my woodworking journey into the world of turning!

Time for another upgrade! The little benchtop drill press I’d been using was painfully limited, and I found a great deal on this Shop Fox 12 speed standing drill press that has an oscillator for spindle sanding!

This thing is an absolute joy to use compared to the tiny fella he’s replacing!

I’m still in the long process of acquiring the tools I need to do great work in my shop. Recently I was able to make a major upgrade to the bandsaw thanks to a deal I found on Facebook for a barely used Jet bandsaw for almost 50% off retail!

This is a huge step up for me, and will let me do all sorts of things I couldn’t before! This machine has way more power and capacity compared to the old Craftsman!
