A RETRO HUNTING: MY WEEKEND GUIDE TO MID-CENTURY TREASURES
If you believe that furniture should tell a story, Los Angeles is your ultimate playground. There is something truly magical about the way this city preserves the soul of the 50s, 60s, and 70s. For me, a weekend isn’t complete without getting lost in a sea of teak wood, atomic lighting, and sun-faded velvet.
Mid-century modern isn’t just a trend here—it’s the heartbeat of California design. I’m constantly drawn to the organic shapes and functional beauty of that era. Every visit to a local market feels like a treasure hunt where the prize is a piece of history for my home.
If you’re looking to turn your living space into a time capsule, these are the monthly stops I swear by:
Here are the Instagram handles for the top vintage markets in Los Angeles to help you tag them in your posts and stay updated on their schedules for February 2026:

My clients are a sociable couple with two kids. The space was designed as a modern art studio with a lounge zone that is always attractive, creates a successful image, and can accommodate many guests.
The house is designed in a minimalist style, with the living and dining areas merged into an open space. I suggested adding some color to the entirely white interior to complement the bright shades of the garden and pool visible through the floor-to-ceiling windows.
Light sofas aren’t ideal for families with young children, so adding bright colors was the perfect solution. I chose cozy blue and mustard sofas by Rove Concept, which harmonize well with the glossy marble fireplace and side tables, as well as the soft light gray rugs.
Large modern art canvases create a gallery-like atmosphere, while the velvet sofas add comfort and a bohemian vibe. The result is a light, fresh, and harmonious interior.

This project is a garage conversion into an ADU, now functioning as a small short-term rental boutique hotel.
I was involved from the start, making architectural adjustments and selecting all the finishes and furniture.
The style evolved throughout the process until we found the perfect solution—a bright, minimalist Scandinavian interior filled with light and air.
Now, guests from all over the world come here, appreciating the sense of space,
freedom, and positive atmosphere. Their warm reviews confirm that this place is truly special.
