Tinkering around with the new . Did my first engraving, carved a hat rack, and cranked out a bunch of slab flattening. And of course mistakes were made - swipe to see my first cnc mistake where I plowed through a hold down while carving the hat rack and then destroyed the same work piece with a super high feed rate…

Not my typical salvage. My aunt and uncle’s house burned down in the 2017 Tubbs fire in Santa Rosa and I was able to save and mill their old mailbox post. I just now got around into making a little keepsake box for them - a small physical reminder of their former home.

In 2020 we salvaged a 250 year old douglas fir log that served as an exhibition called "Big Wood" at the Exploratorium museum in San Francisco. Most of these table sized slabs feature voids from where steel stands propped up the logs for display. After more than two years of air drying these slabs are heading to the kiln. DM to reserve a slab with a truly unique history!

Stacking up some claro walnut! Working through a big backlog of walnut salvaged from my uncles orchard. There was so much walnut being removed it was difficult to be selective due to time constraints. We focused on salvaging the burls and figured logs when possible - swipe right to see some nice curlies.
