This is my second batch(6 days in on the black garlic machine) . How do you guys know when it's ready to be pulled, I'm not able to get that sweet molasses taste and the inside still looks a bit red when I cut in the middle. As well, upon storing is there a way to make it keep its jelly texture that is spread able or is that more of a timing thing?
Thanks

Are you team Pop-Tart or team Toaster Strudel?
Here's how to make your own flaky and gooey and totally customizable strudels at home!
Pastry ungredients:
1 box of puff pastry
Jam of choice
1 egg
Icing ingredients:
1/4 cup powdered sugar
Splash of heavy cream
Splash of vanilla
Thaw puff pastry according to directions on box.
Lay out puff pastry on cutting board and slice both sheets into 9 pieces each. Add a dallop of jam to center of half the pieces.
Beat the egg and brush it onto edges of dough that you just added the jam to.
Put the other 9 pieces of dough onto the dough with jam (making a sandwich).
Using a fork, crimp the edges of all 9 dough sandwiches. Then brush egg on top.
Bake at 400° F for about 15 minutes or until the tops turn golden brown.
Let cool then add icing if desired.
To make icing:
Mix all ingredients until smooth. Add more cream as needed to get to an icing texture.

UPDATE WITH TIME AND TEMPERATURE:
for all my fruits I use 125-135°f . Pineapple, mango, papaya and bananas are usually done in about 7-8 hours, jackfruit takes about 15 hours ( but well worth it), plums and starfruit are dry in about 5-6 hours, because I cut them really thin. I live in hot and humid climate and dry only what our garden produces 🧡
So far dehydrated fruits this year: bananas, pineapple, papaya, mango, wild plums, starfruit, red pear, jackfruit, green pear, pitaya, kiwi, oranges, mulberry

Ok y'all I did a thing. I dont usually post just read and learn but this was too much fun not to tell. Answered a marketplace add cause I'm in dire need of jars and lids. Got way more than jars. PC, WB, apple peeler/corer/slicer, close to 200 lids and rings 90% of them new. Older lady "downsizing" to move. Shes also a master gardener so sent me off with a new houseplant and lots of flower seeds! BEST part? Made a new friend!!!

Sourdough/buttermilk biscuits. They are about the softest biscuits I’ve ever buttered 😋

Well, the garlic jelly was my best seller at the market. Mom and I had to make more this evening. 14 batches made 42 - 1/2 pints and 12 - 3/4 pints. Been a busy night.
