Furniture and small pieces handcrafted out of intriguing, often rare, woods; including explorations of personal design, as well as fully designed and drafted pieces to suit any style or client interest. Commissioned items are made to suit each client's unique circumstance and desire, in whatever style and finish requested. In addition, I practice my skills, and entertain my own curiosities as a ge
ometer and woodworker, through my own design experimentation. All joinery, whatever the style of piece, is by traditional European and/or Japanese method, hand cut and fitted. All pieces are only ever entirely solid hardwood and glue. I prefer soft finishes, such as oil and wax, or a buffed and waxed lacquer, laboriously hand-rubbed to create a soft and warm glow to the piece, and imparting a comfortable sense of age. However, as per client wishes, any piece may be finished in any manner, from a sprayed contemporary clearcoat, to a genuine, high-rub French polish. Furniture is designed to endure the physical and environmental demands of use and time, and to grow increasingly more welcoming over generations of use.
