❤️ YART ARTIST SET UP INSTRUCTIONS! ❤️
YART Artists: YART is HERE! 😍 It’s TODAY! The Fall 2026 Muncie YART is particularly HUGE, with several changes, and we all need to coordinate a LOT to get it set up. PLEASE READ ALL THIS!
PLEASE DON'T ASSUME YOU KNOW, THINGS CHANGE EVERY YEAR!
🗓 The Fall 2026 Muncie YART will be held TODAY from 5-8p on Thursday, October 1st, during ArtsWalk, by Canan Commons, on South Walnut Street in Downtown Muncie. ArtsWalk is a very large occasion, with many events happening simultaneously throughout Downtown Muncie.
💰 All Art at YART must be priced below $40. YART is a Yard Sale for Art and we maintain that fun, community vibe by setting up outdoors and keeping low prices for the public. All Art at YART must be made by the Artist selling it.
🌐 YART Community Groups, please check in at 2p at the black YART Information Tent on South Walnut Street by Canan Commons. You will be taken to your space at Canan Commons by badged YART Staff after checking in. Be sure to bring your canopy and whatever you need for the day.
🎪 YART Interactive Artists bringing your open-sided canopy to the Fall 2026 Muncie YART, please check in to set up EARLY at 2p at the black YART Information Tent on South Walnut Street by Canan Commons. YART Artists with canopies will be placed by badged YART Staff *after* checking in. Don’t be late, canopies at 2p!
🎟️ All other YART Artists must check in at 3p at the black YART Information Tent on Walnut Street (by Canan Commons). YART Artists will be placed by badged YART Staff *after* checking in. Check in with your HUMAN NAME (not a business name) and be sure to mention if more than one Artist is with you. When you check in, YART Staff will find your human name on the YART Artist List, give you a YART Artist Sign to display prominently for YART Staff Photographers and the media, and then you’ll be taken to your space. If you will need to go back to your vehicle after being placed, be *sure* you leave something noticeable (BIG) in your space, or that space might be accidentally given away in the set-up rush.
🚗 Watch signs and park legally. There is often FREE parking in the City Parking Garage behind the Marriott right by YART.
🪧 When you check in, YART Staff will find your human name on the YART Artist list, give you a YART Artist sign to display prominently for YART Staff Photographers and the media, and then you’ll be taken to your space.
📋 Again, YART Artists must check in at the YART Information Tent beginning at 3p with me (I am Miss Moth, the Director of YART) or badged YART Staff upon arrival. We will show you where to set up your display. Artists will not be placed before 3p. (Canopies at 2p.)
🎁 Each YART Artist will have room for one 6 foot table (or its equivalent in size) in which to set up. Small, and delightfully FREE! I never charge Artists to participate in YART.
📸 Be sure to prominently display the YART Artist sign that we will give you so it shows up in the photos we will take of you and put online.
⏰ Show up on time and stay until the end! The Fall 2026 Muncie YART and ArtsWalk go from 5-8p on Thursday, October 1st. YART Artists may arrive at 3p to set up, no earlier. (Canopies at 2p!) YART Artists may leave at 8p, no earlier.
📦 Be *sure* to stay fully set up to sell until the end of YART at 8p. Do not pack up at all until 8p. No exceptions are ever granted - we have each said that we will be there until 8p, so we will. YART is often where people wrap up their ArtsWalk evening and we get compliments for being reliably open until 8p. Thank you all for that!
💵 YART Artists bring their own table/displays and manage their own sales.
👯 Bring a friend! It's really helpful if you bring somebody with you to YART to watch your display while you walk around for a little while. Or, find a restroom.
🎒Though you'll only be outside for a few hours, a little bit of advance preparation will make your experience selling at YART much more pleasant for you. In addition to bringing change for people who buy your Art, consider bringing a way to accept credit/debit cards (ALWAYS enter the customer’s email address or phone number on the app to send a receipt so you don’t get a chargeback - seriously, trust me, you’re selling in a public park and charges can easily be contested without a sent receipt), something to sit on, a display or table for your Art, something to weigh down lightweight pieces of Art, bags that fit your Artwork, sunglasses, sunscreen, a jacket, cards or handbills with your contact information, and, of course, your CHEERFUL GOOD MOOD ready to have fun at YART!
🎨 Make Art LIVE at YART! ArtsWalk and YART are big celebrations of all things arty and patrons expect some hands-on artfulness!
😎 Keep in mind that YART and ArtsWalk are family events. If you have "adult" Artwork, consider ways to display it that won't cause problems for you and will help sell your Art.
🌬️ It gets really windy at YART, plan ahead if you've got lightweight work or unsteady displays.
💡 It also gets dark - bring lots of battery lighting.
🧰 If you need anything, be sure to check with the YART Staff at the YART Information Tent as they will have the TOOL BAG! You are welcome to use anything in it!
