I re-release a video my granddaughter, Jewel Williams, a six grader at the time (8th grader now 😉🤗), created and hosted about the Black Panther Party. It features a former member of the Black Panther and Black Liberation Army, Jamal Joseph, who is writer, director, producer, poet, activist, and educator.
Mr Joseph was prosecuted as one of the Panther 21, spending 6 years incarcerated.

A friend of Afeni Shakur and Godfather of Tupac Shakur, he earned a BA summa cm laude from the University of Kansas. He is a full professor and former chair of Columbia University's Graduate Film Division and artistic director of the New Heritage Theatre Group in Harlem. He was nominated for a 2008 Academy Award in Best Song category for his contributions to the song "Raise It Up," performed by Impact Repertory Theatre and Jamia Nash in the 2007 film August Rush. His memoir Panther Baby was published in February 2012. He co-wrote and directed the feature Chapter & Verse through Harlem Film Company, which he co founded with producer Cheryl Hill.

My guest, Mr. Eddie Ray, born December 21, 1926, is an author and a pioneer in many genres of music recordings... from rock and roll and rhythm and blues to country. He not too long ago wrote AGAINST ALL ODDS, his life story.

Eddie Ray started in the music business over 78 years ago as a stock boy for Decca records only to rise and become the Nations first African American music executive for a major record label to becoming Vice-President of Capital - Tower Records. He was appointed by President Ronald Reagan to serve as Commissioner of the U.S Copyright Royalty Tribunal in Washington, D.C. Mr. Ray also revitalized and sat on the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame Advisory Board and its Board of Directors. This is a must-see episode that you will thoroughly enjoy!🤗

She was a child star on Broadway in 1955, an Ikette with Tina Turner, sang with Little Richard and David Ruffin on his first solo album after the Temptations and a founding member of the great iconic group of the 70's...the HONEY CONE...who had a triumph recent concert in Los Angeles. And by the way...she found time to also be Funeral director for a short time!!!😲😄🤗

She is an award-winning producer, actress, and director who has directed plays all over the country and received honors for her work, including sharing the Best Play Audelco award for 2025. Elizabeth is also the widow of the great person she succeded as the Producing Arttistic Director of the New Federal Theater in 2021... Woodie King Jr. I send my deepest condolences for her loss. 😞

It's a wonderful, thought- provoking study of the American Theater and it's inner workings of creating and staging of a play production... a must- see!👏

My guest is the great
William "Bill" Easley, born in Olean, NY, is a saxophonist, flutist and clarinetist, has performed with some of the most iconic musicians, including George Benson, Isaac Hayes, Ruth Brown, Ron Carter, Grady Tate, Bobby Short, John Lewis, Winton Marsalis and Louis Bellson, just to name a few!

He has been part of the orchestra of 10 Broadway Shows, including Black and Blue, Sophisticated Ladies, The Wiz, Jelly Last Jam, Fosse. As side from being a sideman on many recording, he has 5 recording as a leader. He has performed in a host of club such as Minton's, Village Vanguard in New York, Plugged Nickel in Chicago, The Jazz Work Shop in Boston to Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. He began performing with his father, a bandleader with his own band and his mother, who was a master pianist.

This episode is informative, historic yet oh so funny! It is not to be missed. You'll love meeting Bill Easley!!!🤗
