In the Fall of 2019, I had this idea…to build a desk that was truly functional and beautifully handcrafted for women.
I quickly got to work researching market trends, e-commerce, making a website, finding a CAD designer, and making a prototype.
Once the pandemic hit, the world was immediately forced to work from home and I worked even faster to launch herdesk so women could have an amazing desk at home.
In the midst of launching herdesk, I was still running my other digital consulting business for nonprofits, re-planning my wedding and moving across the country…yeah, I don't know what I was thinking either!
I'm really proud of what I've started, but I also know when it's time to hit pause.
Manufacturing and shipping furniture in the US during the middle of a pandemic is…well, we all saw what happened with toilet paper right?
It's been a very hard decision, but I've decided to pause all manufacturing of herdesk.
I recently switched to a local Atlanta manufacturer with craftsmen that are amazing, but it's taking longer than expected to order and receive materials due to COVID, set up the tools needed, and ensure a quality product is shipped properly.
I've taken all of your suggestions to heart and my vision is to come back with an even better desk.
I can't say thank you enough for following me in this journey. I hope herdesk can be a beautiful piece for your home in the future.

Did you rush into this week or slowly lean in?
I decided to slow down and give myself this week to dream up my vision for 2021 and build strategies to get me there. But, I’ve quickly realized giving myself just this week isn’t enough.
I joined ’s SHINE Mastermind Group this year. An annual program (yes! scares me too to commit this long!)
Our first session was yesterday with process and systems expert . Mind blown after 5 minutes of her presentation. 🤯
This week I gave myself a lot of what she calls: DESIGN time. As an owner of two businesses, it’s my duty to continue the creative work of looking forward - designing for the future.
But how much time did I plan for this? 1 out of 52 weeks. 😑 Not gonna cut it.
Give yourself the space and the time to be the visionary that you are.
