2023 Renault Zoe E-Tech 100% Electric Hatchback Officially Launched in Malaysia in Two Variants
Tuesday, the 16th of May 2023 was the day when TC Euro Cars (TCEC), the authorised distributor of Renault vehicles in Malaysia, officially launched the new Renault Zoe 100% Electric. The new Renault Zoe is available in two variants - The Zoe R110 base variant at RM165,000 on the road without insurance, while the higher-spec Zoe R135 retails at RM179,000 on the road without insurance. Also available are 12 to 36-month subscription plans.
Equipped with Renault’s latest 52 kWh battery, this latest Renault Zoe delivers up to 135 PS with 245 Nm of torque and an enhanced WLTP-rated range of up to 395 km, This is in addition to a class-leading 0-100 percent charge time of three hours via AC charging at 22 kW.
The Zoe is one of the pioneers when it comes to fully electric cars here in Malaysia and is actually one of the nicer looking ones too. I think it has chic written all over it even though it now faces challengers from China. I still would take French chic most of the time.

Japanese Indie Watchmaker Naoya Hida Launches The 36mm Type 4A Collection
I’ve always seen Japan as the other place for fine watchmaking. But for many years, it has mostly been about large companies and mainstream production. Yet, in recent years, we’ve seen the rise of an independent watchmaking scene in Japan, with names such as Kikuchi Nakagawa, Hajime Asaoka or his other venture, Kurono Tokyo. Another name that somehow fascinates us at MONO (we love indie watches, we can’t help it) is Naoya Hida. Offering high-end watches in very limited numbers, with an undeniable vintage charm, the brand has made a name for itself with its superbly finished Calatrava-styled watches. It is time now for the fourth series to be presented, the 36mm Naoya Hida Type 4A Series. New case, new size, sportier style, but still the same spirit.

The New Yema Urban Field Collection
Except for a couple of watches that stood out from the crowd, such as the Wristmaster with the in-house micro-rotor movement, the French brand Yema is all about utilitarian, professionally oriented watches. The Superman dive watch, the Navygraf for navy crew or the Flygraf for pilots… They are all built for a specific mission. However, with its latest collection, Yema is about to answer a request from its community for a watch with a less tool-ish style to be worn all day, every day. And it takes the shape of a field-inspired time-only model available in multiple colours and in two sizes, the Yema Urban Field Collection.

The New Limited Editions Nomos Orion “175 Years Watchmaking Glashütte”
While the Tangente is often seen as the most emblematic watch ever created by German watchmaker Nomos, there is another model that, in my books, feels even more classically designed. Refined, elegant, timeless and equally minimalist in its style, the Orion is the brand’s vision of a dressy watch, but this time without a twist – something that Nomos is very good at. It has naturally been elected to be part of the collection that celebrates 175 years of Watchmaking in Glashütte, the small town that is home to the best German watchmakers, including Nomos. Available in three sizes, all with the in-house Neomatik movement, they come as refined as they can.

The Lexus LC 500, A Bargain At Any Price, Just Got More Expensive
We love the Lexus LC 500, a car that exists exclusively to be beautiful and nothing more. It excels at this goal, perhaps better than any other car on the road and certainly better than any other car with a sticker that begins under six figures. Just under six figures, because the LC 500 is getting more expensive.
See, last year the LC 500 started at $94,600, including destination. For the 2024 model year, that rises to $98,850, an increase of $4,250. The pricier LC 500h — which lacks the base model’s V8 for obvious reasons and produces 117 fewer horsepower but sniffs at 30 miles per gallon — costs $102,150. The convertible, non-hybrid version sits atop the range at $106,350.

2023 Genesis G90 Review: Luxury without breaking the bank
Back in the 1990s Japanese automakers attempted to take on the best from Germany with the introduction of Acura, Infiniti and Lexus. Now it’s Korea’s turn with Hyundai Motor Group’s Genesis brand, which has launched an onslaught of new models to take on Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
So far we’ve loved everything that the brand has introduced lately, like the GV80 and GV70 SUVs and the compact G70 sedan. Now Genesis is taking another go at the flagship end of its lineup with the introduction of the redesigned 2023 G90 sedan. The G90 is aimed at big German sedans, like the Audi A8, BMW 7 Series and Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
The G90 attempts to stand out from those other big sedans with its striking styling, first class interior and lively powertrain.

2023 Honda HR-V vs 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross: Which is better?
The 2023 Honda HR-V and 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross are two of the most popular subcompact SUVs. The Toyota was actually one of the 10-best-selling cars in the entire world last year. Like a Big Mac, however, popularity does not automatically equal the best available product.
Welcome to the win column Corolla Cross! It gets 31 mpg city, 33 mpg highway and 32 mpg combined with front-wheel drive, and then 29/32/30 with all-wheel drive. It also offers something no other brand does in this segment apart from Kia: a hybrid powertrain. The Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid, pictured below in S and XSE trim levels, returns an exceptional 45/38/42 with its standard all-wheel-drive system.
The HR-V’s fuel economy is 26/32/28 with FWD and 25/30/27 with AWD. This is not only lower than the Corolla Cross, but more than many rivals.
