California born and bred, Kassia Meador began surfing at age 14. By 17-years-old, Kassia was a sponsored pro-longboarder, traveling the world. Known for her graceful surf style, Kassia was crowned the "queen of noseriding" by the New York Times and in 2011 ranked 2nd on the WSL women's longboard tour.

Throughout her career as a competitive sponsored athlete, Kassia was actively involved in designing products under the umbrella of her sponsors. In 2013, Kassia left sponsored surfing to build a brand--that focused on quality instead of quantity, working towards more conscious solutions rather than contributing to the larger global issues. In 2015 she launched KASSIA+SURF, a brand for women by women with design rooted in authenticity gained through 23 years experience. Thomas Campbell's the "Seedling" was a view of the alternative surfing culture during a time when Professional competitive surfing was the norm. This film was both influential and prescient of boards, culture and things to come in surfing. He eventually followed it up with Sprout and then The Present. All documenting and influencing the growing strain of surf culture that rides anything but the standard shortboard. Outside of Surf / Skate Culture, Thomas is an acclaimed painter, sculpture, photographer, and maker of things. Mounting solo exhibitions in New York, Paris, Tokyo, Denmark, The Netherlands, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Morocco. He is also affiliated with the Beautiful Losers collective, an art movement inspired by street art, punk, and hip hop. This latest delivery to a haus in center city is a collaboration with who helped make my sketch into an extremely sturdy interlocking steel base to match the inspo pics that my clients sent. I made a sliding “Dutch Pullout” table top that slides effortlessly from 54” sq to 74 or 94” rectangular. Here it is wide open. There are 2 lovers benches that still need upholstery. This is my first time working for who do amazing work based on this interior. I’m honored to have my work in the center of this beautiful home.

Join us this Wednesday, June 3 at 5:30 pm at Moonlight Beach in Encinitas for the Paddle Out for UNITY in solidarity with Black Lives Matter. We will be spelling out UNITY with our surfboards in the sand then paddling out to celebrate the black lives lost to police brutality. We invite everyone in the surf community to speak out against racial injustice. Please join and for this peaceful memorial ceremony. All are welcome to join us on the beach, even if you will not be entering the ocean.
*Flowers and posters are encouraged. Face masks and social distancing are strongly recommended, you can leave your masks on the sand if you will be entering the ocean.
