Hourly News Updated for iOS and Mac

Hourly News has just been updated for both the iOS and Mac versions. The updated versions — 1.6.3 on iOS and 1.2.3 on Mac — are available now on the iTunes and Mac App stores. So what's new?

We added a setting called "Exclude Played Episodes" which, when enabled, skips past a news podcast episode if already heard. This is great for when you have a mixture of weekly or daily updated sources in with your hourly news source.

For example, let's say you listen to Hourly News in both the morning and the night, and you also subscribe to the Marketplace Morning Report. You would hear the Morning Report in the morning when you want to, but you would also hear the same episode a second time in your sources at night because they only update once per day. Enabling "Exclude Played Episodes" will skip past this at night so you don't have to hear the same episode again.

There were some other rare, but serious bug fixes such as one that would prevent the app from being opened if you disabled all of the sources. We fixed another where the custom source addition could continually ask for upgrade. We fixed another where the app would sometimes crash if sources were swiped too quickly. And of course, we are always optimizing the app and making minor bug fixes to ensure top quality.

Hourly News for Mac Updated With Custom Sources and Sync

We are happy to announce the addition of custom news sources into Hourly News for Mac! For a one-time, in-app purchase of $0.99, you will be able to add unlimited audio podcasts to the app alongside your other sources.

Custom Sources can be re-arranged, skipped, enabled and disabled just like the other ones. Any audio podcast that conforms to the standard podcast format can be added, and Hourly News will do some checking and verifications when you set one up to make sure everything will turn out right.

Another great addition to this version is iCloud syncing. If you have multiple computers running the app, or if you are also running on your iOS device using Hourly News for iOS, you can now keep your sources and settings in sync between them all.

NYC Bikes 1.2 Adds a Full Station Map and Ride Timer



NYC Bikes is a simple and easy-to-use App that helps you locate the closest Citi Bike? docking station. With one tap you can find the closest Citi Bike station, how far away it is and in which direction, and how many available bikes and docks it currently has. NYC Bikes has just been updated to version 1.2 so what’s new?



A 30 or 45 Minute Ride Timer

A Citi Bike rental has very strict ride length limitations, with steep late fees

Pass holders have the first 30 minutes of every trip free and Annual Members have the first 45 minutes of every trip free. Longer rides incur overtime fees.



If your Citi Bike has not been returned and correctly docked at a station after 24 hours, the bike is considered stolen and a fee of up to $1,000 plus administrative fees will be charged to your credit or debit card.
