A man after our own heart: Jin has two ELDERBULLS he describes as "my best friends."
Please click on this post from Dogs of New York and show Jin, Chellie Girl, and White Boy some love.
PS: Dogs of New York is a project of Beyond Breed, our family's non-profit organization that supports the bond between people and pets and shares resources with pet owners in under-served neighborhoods.
Chellie Girl (age 11) and White Boy (age 7) and Jin live in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn.
"I've had them both since they were puppies. Husband and wife, ha! They've been married for 7 years."
"I'm 53 years old and these are the first dogs I ever had. They're my best friends. People don't get it, man, but dogs are the best."
"One time a few years ago, Chellie Girl ate poison. I didn't think he was gonna make it, I was so scared. I rushed her to the hospital and we were just in time."
"Chellie Girl's expression is always the same, but White Boy? He's got a thousand different faces. You can always tell what he's thinking. And when he's happy? He is really happy and you just know it. I love this dog so much."
"They also live with a cat."
Jin is a local tattoo artist at Hood Ink on Myrtle Avenue, if anyone's in the market for one.

GREAT NEWS!! Beyond Breed won $1,000 from Embrace Pet Insurance through their "Keeping Pets with their People" giveaway!!
Our Ruff Riders project -- which supports pet owners in under-served neighborhoods in Brooklyn and NYC -- has grown quickly over the past year. We have a long wait list of families who've asked for assistance, and this $1,000 will help us welcome more of them into our Ruff Riders family.
We are SO grateful that Embrace Pet Insurance awarded us this money, which will help us fulfill our motto: "Spread Love, It's the Brooklyn Way!"
We're also grateful for YOU -- our supporters -- for voting and spreading the word about the contest. Thank you, thank you, thank you for helping us, believing in our work, and believing in our community! We love you!
We also want to give a BIG shout out to the other groups in the contest, Dog Aide Community Awareness Program (Detroit) and Downtown Dog Rescue (Los Angeles). We're proud to call them our friends and colleagues because they're doing incredible things on behalf of pet owners in their communities. Keep up your GREAT work! You inspire us

: 2010, the day we figured out which of the dogs was eating un**es and hiding the remnants around the house. We solved the mystery when Martha trotted into the living room wearing an underwear-cape.
Oh, dogs.....you drive us crazy, but you make us giggle!

Cyrus is a 9-year-old dog I met near Times Square in Manhattan. "We live uptown but he comes to the office with me."
"He walks like an eggbeater sometimes, but he's been that way since he was a puppy."
"I've never had a dog live past 10. I hope Cyrus is the one who does."
