The bar has been completed. The kegerator is installed (dual tap) and the shelves have gone up behind the bar to display yummy beverages. Really excited with how the process worked out. The response has been spectacular and I feel really fortunate to have had BOLD as a client. Very grateful.

Long hard road towards a unique Hygge Culture bar. Really enjoying how this all came together.

On the left is a rough cut slab and on the right is a recently planed claro walnut slab. They are bookmatched yet without planing they look so different. This one step really brings out the grain and texture of the wood.

Here are some photos of my setup that I used to build out this awesome Chevron pattern. I went through many many pieces of wood to create the design. I think it turned out great!

Here are some shots of the slab leveling jig at the workshop. I did not make this, but my talented shop mate - Jeff. It works extremely well and can accept some fairly large slabs. I would say that it does top out at 3" thick boards, which I was able to work around. It's 10 feet long and 5 feet wide. The rails are what really set this apart.

30 seconds of Sanding. This is part of my cleaning process. Before any wood is installed on-site into walls, headboards, cabinets or fashioned into nightstands I must clean up the debris that has built up. There is plenty of dirt, bugs, nails, staples, screws and other nasty buildup. Sanding brings out the patina of the grain.

Ripping this redwood slab in half takes two passes of the Festool track saw. The first cut I take is at 50mm in depth and then I flip the slab over to make the final cut. It's only then that I can take the slab over to the joiner to clean up my saw blade marks.

Just planing some Redwood on a sunny Saturday afternoon.

First stages of the kitchen shelf are coming together. Lots of work left. But this is looking great.
