Maybe it’s a homecoming… or maybe it’s me finally understanding what a second home really means.
Atlanta gave me so much—memories I didn’t fully appreciate until I left. Getting into Morehouse. Working at the Four Seasons. Buying my first 911. Freaknik. Antique shopping like it was a sport. The ‘96 Olympics. The food, the music… unmatched. I also became a father there—one of the greatest blessings of my life.
No beaches, no sand—but nothing beats those sweet Georgia peaches 🍑
I even had the chance to plant roots, to stay. But back then, my mind was on NYC. Funny how life works… sometimes you don’t realize how much a place means to you until you run from it.
Now I get to come back—with purpose.
Grateful to be part of the Black Boy Art Show alongside so many incredible artists. Full circle moment.

We’ve been working with a client on Staten Island for the past 4 months to bring their tree back to life.
What started as a tree on their property is now becoming a 16’ x 5’ custom table — milled, dried, and built right here by us.
From salvaging to milling to drying… this is the full process. Nothing rushed. Nothing wasted.
It’s always our pleasure to save as many trees as possible and give them a second life — right where they came from.

The snow is gone and the garlic is coming up. We planted 20lbs of garlic over 200 bulbs and its now starting to come up. We will add more soil and cover the beds with sawdust. These was 2’ of snow in here not long ago. Onions, greens, cabbages and lettuce coming up. The official southern farmer does not put anything in the ground until after easter. Once these garlic matures we will save 35% of the best and use for seed for the next year. One of the more exciting things about being in the yard full time. We get to grow big.
Preparation and organization allows is to take advantage of opportunities we otherwise may not get. Distractions prevents us from being prepared and organized. A guy showed up at my yard gates locked so my neighbor called said some guy he wants to sell logs. I said leave him my number please, this being the last thing on my mind and also reminding me why i need downsize and liquidate, so i can make these moves. The guy me a bit to come see his yard, checked the map 45 min away. Got in the van took a ride and was like wow.. after 25 min.. i remembered no right now. 💯 . We are moving this weekend and come by for the send off.
After many years here in Yonkers, it’s time for us to say goodbye to this chapter.
Running two shops and a yard has been an incredible journey—but it’s become too much to manage. We’re consolidating everything and moving fully into the yard. The good news: we’re not going far. Just down the road into a bigger, better space with more room to grow and create.
To all of our clients, collaborators, and friends—thank you. Your support is the reason NYCitySlab is still here and still pushing forward. This place holds a lot of memories for me, and I won’t lie—it’s a mix of excitement and emotion as we close this chapter.
We also have a bit of an SOS…
We’re moving this Saturday & Sunday, and could really use an extra set of hands. If you’ve ever wanted to get your hands on some slabs, I’ve got material I can offer in exchange for help moving.
Even if you can’t help, come by, say hello, and be part of the send-off. We’ll be here until the end of the month, but the big move happens this weekend.
