TRAVEL App Studio is more than an app.
It's a database platform that lets regional bodies and tourism authorities load information and photos for their local attractions via a website into a content management system.
The platform then spits out a mobile tourism site, and dedicated apps for iOS and Android can be built for that region.
The developer, Sydney start-up Argentum Webware, says it is possible for a tourism body to create a mobile site and channel in 30 minutes.
Appetiser downloaded the Mudgee Region Tourism Guide created by the platform and was impressed with the quality and organisation of the information.

Wafels and Dinges (Wafels & Dinges)
Here's a little bit of Begian 101, Wafels = Waffles, and Dinges = Stuff, and in this particular case, lots of yummy stuff! This cart is permanently located at the entrance of the Central Park Zoo, and there are other trucks and carts throughout the city selling a mouth watering variety of sweet and savoury waffles.
First pick your waffle - 'Light and Crispy' or 'Soft and Chewy' and then add some 'dinges': Spekuloos (cookie butter), Whipped Cream, Strawberries, Belgian Choc Fudge, Maple Syrup or Walnuts (and the list goes on!) and indulge.
More of a savoury tooth? Try the Pulled Pork Wafel with Coleslaw and Sweet BBQ sauce, or the Chilli con Corne - a corn waffle topped with chilli, sour cream and cilantro. Yummo.

BLUE MARBLE (Blue Marble Ice Cream)
Their mission from the get go is to make 'tastebuds happy and hearts feel good', and Lord knows, they do! Using super-premium, certified organic dairy along with the most delicious ingredients you could combine with ice cream and you have yourself a yummy scoop of Blue Marble.
Their straight up strawberry flavor seems to be everyone's favourite, but there's a range to choose from including Apple Cider Sorbet, Burnt Sugar, Raspberry Choc Chip and Root Beer flavours. They also serve reliably good coffee along with good old fashioned service.

SHAKE SHACK (Shake Shack - Official Page)
These guys are located throughout New York in various parks, but this is the 'Mother Ship'. Starting out as a humble hot dog stand in 2001, Shake Shack became so popular they opened their first kiosk, whose popularity is reflected in the hordes of hungry customers queueing unwaveringly.
The burgers are so good here, even the vegie option with a fried Portabello Mushroom, stuffed with gooey cheese and topped with lettuce tomato and Sauce. Then there's the delicious shakes including their 'Concrete' frozen custards mixed with all kinds of fudgey goodies, and their cheese fries? Positively a heart attack waiting to happen, but so good.
Join the queue, your kids will thank you.
