Dappled light in the back yard and feeling like it’s possible to actually enjoy the outdoor space completely set up and functional before the first snow; if I so choose. Here’s to everyone who helped get this grueling project to where it is …physically, mentally and emotionally; my friends, my contractors (that loyally came back over and over and cared about their work), and my neighbors ❤️

Sometimes you just bring a little glamour when you’re staying home. Versace platforms on the original hardwoods.

Certain things about home that create a sense of old world nostalgia and history. Keeping a ceiling that speaks of 100 years of history including the memories of the past several that I’ve personally lived here looking at all the cracks and remembering all the decisions and choices made and still appreciating how they look today.

Collecting art that speaks. I got this a couple of years ago back and I love it. Sitting along side some old pastel shagreen boxes I got many years ago at a shop in Palm Springs. These things that inspire me are like a time capsule of my life and travels where I saw beauty and brought it home. They all add depth to the maximalist style.

Orchids back in bloom.
Orchids thrive in the shower and bring a touch of nature to the statuary planter and the master bath.

The kitchen wall where utility meets display. Wooden rolling pins and thick blackened charcuterie board hang on gorgeous knurled hook and ball and dish shaped k***s in varying metal finishes

Before and after of the back of the brownstone. A great transformation allowing us to finally unveil the large window to the back yard and begin work on the sunroom. From siding to repairing the damage underneath and obviously finally the beautiful stucco finish.

Late summer roses from the garden. Early summer they were a pale lavender color. Now they’re more pink. This is the most I have taken care of the rose bush and it’s yielded so many roses and long stems. Hard to believe the bush was a half price bush that was burnt out and dying at Home Depot some years back.
