Milan design week, what can I say!?

I once said I wouldn't go to Milan until I was exhibiting there (I'm stubborn)...turns out that got me into a bit of trouble.

These past two weeks were my first time in this city and I completely underestimated the whirlwind that it is.
Slightly overwhelmed, definitely over stimulated but also oh so happy and grateful to meet and connect with people from all over the world brought together by a shared appreciation for design (and pasta and aperitivo, let's be honest).

A huge thank you to everyone that passed by and supported the work, to everyone involved in the process, and of course to all my design neighbors on site 🤍

What I always find so interesting about putting creative work out into the world is how different perspectives emerge through the eyes of those receiving it.
Over the years, I have listened to various interpretations of my work and they always delight (well, most of the time) and surprise me (always).
I did not conceive these pearl adornments as "earrings for the chair", the idea never even crossed my mind while I was drawing them, and yet it is the first thing nearly everyone has said upon seeing them.
I cannot unsee it now, and since they were made by a jeweler - of course - they were earrings all along.
