Today is World Kindness Day -- a time to celebrate kindness and highlight how vital empathy and understanding is to developing caring, compassionate communities.

One way that we can make a positive impact on others is through acts of kindness, and like Ancient Greek storyteller Aesop, we believe that "no act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.”

Acts of kindness can include catching up with a friend, giving a loved one a call, helping out a neighbor with a task, donating to a charity, thanking or complimenting someone, volunteering your time for a cause, sharing messages of positivity and practicing self-compassion.

Here's to making kindness a priority today and every day!

Did you know today is World Sustainability Day?

It's more important than ever we find ways to incorporate sustainable practices into our lives so we can create a more sustainable planet for future generations.

Today, we're highlighting the work of a designer completely dedicated to sustainability through upcycling: Nicole McLaughlin.

Known for her innovative, fun and functional fashion using repurposed thrifted materials, household items and outdoor gear, Nicole's playful designs include a slipper made out of volleyballs, a coat fabricated from oven mitts and a chair crafted from Nike hats. She gives away or sells her creations to raise funds for environmental organizations and educates people about sustainable design through workshops. Adding to the reasons to celebrate in October -- it's National Ergonomics Month and National Women's Small Business Month!

The science and practice of ergonomics is so important to us and our seating, and we're always happy to highlight ergonomics and how ergonomically friendly spaces boost wellness and productivity when it comes to work.

As a woman-owned small business certified by the Women's Business Enterprise National Council - WBENC, we love supporting women-owned companies and the work of inspiring female business leaders and entrepreneurs. According to the U.S. Small Business Administration, there are more than 13 million women-owned businesses and counting!

Today we're shining the spotlight on a woman-owned business focused on creating healthy, safe work environments: Flow Ergonomics.

Founded by occupational therapist and certified ergonomic specialist Dr. Monick Anderson, Flow Ergonomics helps individuals and companies modify or redesign their workspaces in order to reduce the risk of injury, strain, muscle fatigue and work-related musculoskeletal disorders. Based in Las Vegas, it offers in-person and virtual ergonomic assessments, equipment review and recommendations, and wellness and exercise programs. Last month, Flow Ergonomics became certified by the WBENC -- congratulations to Monick on this wonderful achievement!
