What an incredible and energizing week in Pensacola! 🌊
FASC proudly wrapped up our 2026 Annual Training at the Bayview Senior Center, where senior center professionals from across Florida gathered to learn, collaborate, and strengthen our collective impact.
Since Wednesday afternoon, our sessions focused on:
• Building resilient volunteer programs
• Understanding and addressing compassion fatigue among staff
• Developing meaningful intergenerational programming
• Partnering strategically with community organizations — with special attention to Pensacola’s performing arts agencies
• The Program Lab — a hands-on exchange where participants shared their program calendars and detailed offerings, sparking practical ideas and peer-to-peer innovation
A heartfelt thank you to Pensacola Little Theatre for the backstage tour and to Historic Pensacola for the engaging historic walking tour. These experiences highlighted the power of local partnerships and creative collaboration.
We leave Pensacola inspired, equipped with new strategies, and connected more strongly than ever. Together, we continue building resilient senior centers and vibrant communities across Florida. 💙

SENIOR CENTER SPOTLIGHT MOMENT!
💖✨ Glamour, Gratitude & Giving Back! ✨💖
The Ruskin Senior Center’s 2nd Annual Wig Fashion Show was a celebration of style, strength, and community! 💃🎀
Guests from Moffitt Cancer Center shared valuable info on cancer screenings before the runway lit up with three fabulous rounds of high fashion — all modeled by Ruskin’s own clients. Each wig will be donated to Luna, an organization providing free wigs to women battling cancer. 💕
Models walked in honor of loved ones and their own survivorship, including Venitha Coleman, 12 years cancer-free, who inspired everyone with her message about early detection. The day wrapped up with raffles, performances, and a pink-powered survivor walk that had everyone cheering! 🌸

What a way to highlight National Senior Center Month!
Older adults deserve dignity, independence, and security. However, federal budget changes, funding rollbacks, and organizational structural changes are putting essential services at risk.
Community-based organizations like Senior Friendship Centers are true lifelines and your support, whether through volunteering or funding, has never been more critical.
