SEPTA will have its public hearings THIS TUESDAY May 22nd regarding its proposed Fiscal Year 2019 Annual Service Plan.

The proposed Annual Service Plan includes changes to bus Routes 80, 88, 96, 129, 204, 205, and 206, and proposes one new bus route, Route 49.

It would also make permanent, the experimental changes to the following routes: 17, 23, 37, 55, 114, 117, and 120.

Here is SEPTA's service plan. It contains everything you should know about the changes!

http://www.septa.org/notice/pdf/2019-asp-draft.pdf

We recommend that you also attend the public hearing this Tuesday if you have anything to say about these routes (anyone can testify) or if you would like to hear others' concerns.

If you speak or if you listen, attending a public hearing is a great way to improve the system we share!

Sadly the shop was closed on Sundays but we checked out the practice bike rack that Philly Electric Wheels has.

The practice rack is an exact replica of what's on the buses.

Unfortunately, some bike riders have not tried it out yet because it seems difficult and that you need to be QUICK so that the bus can keep going.

It's true that you should be quick for the riders and the operator when storing your bike on the rack. But that won't be a factor when you get the feel and the flow of the process down. It does really become second nature when you can practice in a low pressure environment.

You'll also find that the steps are written right on the rack itself!

This practice rack let's you easily get into the flow so that storing your bike becomes second nature and you can carefully read the instructions. One of our CAC members can do the process from to start to finish in 10 seconds flat :)

And of course it's also a wonderful piece of art by Meg Lemieur!
