Moisture-Resistant: From the walls to the floors, tile has an unmatched water-resistant property that makes it an excellent choice for bathrooms, laundry rooms, kitchens, and mudrooms alike. You will never have to be concerned with water “seeping” through your tile and can have peace of mind that their design is as durable as it is stylish.
Stain-Resistant: Tile floors provide homeowners with ease of mind. Whether your little one spilled their drink or your furry friend had an accident, tile floors give you the opportunity to clean messes without worry.
Scratch-Resistant: Being a naturally scratch-resistant surface, tile can be installed in heavy traffic areas and maintain its alluring beauty from year to year.
Fire-Resistant: The fire-resistant property ensures that tile is not a flammable material; therefore, if a fire were to break out, it does not produce smoke or burn toxic fumes which keeps you and your loved ones safe.
Mold-and Mildew-Resistant: Remarkably, tile can boastfully say that it does not house or produce bacteria, making your house healthier for you and your family.

Carpeting and area rugs both act as winter coats for your flooring. They stop your feet from coming into contact with a cold surface and stop the surface from losing heat at a rapid rate. Studies have shown that up to 10% of the heat that is lost by hardwood flooring could be retained by carpet.
The rug pad or carpet pad you choose to go underneath your new carpet will also determine how much warmth the carpet adds to the room. Need extra help? You can layer area rugs over carpeting in cold areas of your home.

18 Gauge Powercleats are designed for the hardwood flooring industry and are FHA and VA approved. Powercleats nails are superior-quality nails designed to ensure trouble-free nailer operation and optimum construction results.
Powercleats nails are made from high-quality steel so they do not bend while being driven into hard flooring materials. They are made with a well-formed set of barbs along each nail, providing the ultimate holding power. The design aids in driving them into hard flooring materials, which helps to eliminate split tongues in floorboards.

1 - Look at the flooring up close by requesting a sample. If there is an opportunity to see a large area of floor installed, such as in a showroom, you can check the alignment of the boards and look for gaps or uneven edges.
2- Good-quality laminate floorboards should lock together seamlessly and create a flat surface – if the edges seem rough or uneven it may cause installation issues, so look for a precision-machined edge.
3- Take a close look at how thick the laminate is. Thin laminates can cause joint issues if the substrate is imperfect, so look for sheets that are 8mm or more in thickness.
4 - Cheaper laminates have pattern repeats as low as 1 in 3 boards. This means that every 3rd board will have the same pattern which shows up once your floor is laid. Higher quality laminates have a pattern repeat as high as 1 in 20 boards to give the natural pattern effect of genuine timber.
5 - High quality laminate floor looks and feels just like the real thing. Up to 7 print colours are used in the manufacture process and the very best laminates actually use a digital printing technology to further enhance the realism.
6- Inspect the bevel edges on your laminate. Quality laminates generally have smaller micro bevels, where the foil of the laminate is actually pressed all the way into the grove. This makes them more resistant to water, lots easier to keep clean and less likely to damage.
7 - High quality laminates are less slippery than their cheaper counterparts. A slip resistance standard of EN 13893 and anti-static rating of EN14041 is achieved with good quality laminates.
8- While laminates in general are the best performers in a high sun environment, a cheaper laminate will fade quicker over time.
8 - A good quality laminate floor will wear very well, wont be damaged by pet claws and is repairable if damaged. Check the AC rating and the availability of repair kits when making your purchasing decision.
