What happens to a deposit:

The 10% still in escrow, buyers should be able to recover it
Anything released to fund construction, much harder to get back
Some buyers put up half a million to a couple million, well past the standard 10%

In a foreclosure the mortgage lender gets paid before almost everyone else. A judgment is not a check.

And the location is the strange part. East of Federal, between Palmetto and Camino, next to the Boca Raton Club. That block does not foreclose.

Office CMBS delinquency hit a record 12.3%, worse than the 2008 peak. Most are maturity defaults, not vacancies.
