There are many more pictures of projects I have yet to sort and share here. I am terrible at keeping up with it! But in the mean time here are a couple more interesting cutting boards I recently made for a client.

More to come soon!

Anyone else love gardening? This was a great spring-time project!

Planted this year:
- Blueberries (6 varieties)
- Raspberries (3 varieties)
- Watermelons (2 varieties)
- Cucumbers (for pickles!)
- Potatoes
- Nectarine tree

Next year I will be adding more vegetables and maybe a few more fruits.

What are you growing this year?

I may have turned that old peice of barnwood from the Henry Ford Clinic into a plaque, but the real showstopper is the painting by JT Moir Fine Art ! If you want to have something painted, he would be my first call!

As for the plaque, it was tricky. The wood had to be cut into 3 peices and joined together, but it was split and deteriorating so it had to be flattened on one side and stabilized first. In order to make each piece look weathered on the cut ends, they had to be hand carved to match the true weathered ends. Each crack in the wood had to be followed to the cut ends and hand carved back into it so it looked natural. Then it had to be perfectly color matched so it blended in perfectly. Not as flashy as some of my more artistic pieces, but it is a work a technical art none the less. This was a tedious but fun project to do and I am honored I was asked to be a part of it.

This was a special gift for some special people.

The portrait was engraved on ambrosia maple and framed in a gorgeous curly sapele.
