Sunday Memories - this was a set I did back in 2020 - had my camera on a timer and my twin 3 yr olds were crying behind the camera bc they wanted in the tub. I was way overstimulated trying to handle it all and may have wished I didn’t have a conscious - or I would have chugged some real swigs of that Tito’s, instead of pretending. But alas…as much as I joke about being trashy and drinkin and smokin - that behavior left when I graduated college….barely….almost 2 years late and having to overcome a GPA of 0.8 my first semester….thats no typo…..zero point eight. Good news is, I finally made my parents proud and graduated……only to end up not using a lick of my Kinesiology degree and instead paint old furniture…..so……anywhooo……enjoy your day!

Idk why or when I decided to use furniture as a canvas. When my boys were 2 or 3, and practically lived outside - my SAHM mind needed something to keep my brain busy. So by the grace of God, I picked up a paint brush and a rickety old buffet off market place. I bought it for $60. Did a very amateur paint job, and sold it for $75. My supplies probably cost me around $30. I was in the hole -$15 and I was hooked 😂. One thing led to another, and I decided I wanted to add some art to a piece. And I just need yall to know, in elementary school, in Midland, Tx - my art class had 6 weeks to draw a still life picture of some paper bags and fruit with light hitting it at different angles. 6 weeks……at the end of that 6 weeks, my paper had ONE SINGULAR LINE drawn on it and covered in erase marks so deep I nearly had holes all in my paper. Art….not my forte.
But I guess when your mind needs to fire off some energy while staying home with toddlers, it figures s**t out. I’m self taught with some tips from YouTube university and watching other artists videos. I’d like to think I’ve come a long ways over the past 7 yrs….bless the individual who actually bought my Lazy Eyed Lady of the Guadalupe. (Girl, bring this back if you want and lemme fix that) The cowgirl is my latest work and probably the most favorite piece I’ve ever done. It’s still available, which I’m not sad about, bc I like lookin at those girls in my shop!
Anywho - I need to get to work so I’ll hang up now. ‼️I’m open from 9-2 today‼️. Just wanted yall to know, incase someone needs to hear it - if you sucked at something when you were younger, give it another go 🤷🏼‍♀️. You may end up starting a business and having split personalities that take smoke breaks and prison time. A dream you never knew you had 🚬 🍊🍑🍇🍎
